In a small village like Atchuvely, getting into university is a remarkable achievement. It represents years of hard work, resilience, and the determination to rise above poverty. But for many students, the joy of university admission is quickly overshadowed by financial stress. Books, transport, meals, accommodation — all of it adds up. Many students are forced to consider dropping out simply because their families can’t afford to support them any longer.

The AKAS Foundation stands by these students. We support those from Atchuvely who have secured a place at university but lack the financial means to continue. Through our University Student Support Project, we offer Rs. 8,000 per month (around €25 or £22) to help with living expenses and academic needs, so these young people can stay focused on their education and their future.
